BODY MAKE OVER - WEEK 6

As week 6 started and my frustration levels kicking my motivation levels into overdrive, at the suggestion of my mum (who has just lost 16kg herself - high 5 mumsie), knowing what I'm like told me to draw up a meal plan to coincide with my new alarm system (which is still working really well).

Now I've never really been the best cook, although I love food and enjoy cooking, when you're a single person and you live alone as I am and have been for the majority of my adult life - with the exception of a couple of delicious signature dishes - I learnt to live on and enjoy the tastiness of the Lean Cuisine or Weight Watchers microwave dinners. So I was determined to make this first menu plan entirely based on food I had to prepare myself otherwise I was never going to learn!!

So based on my 5000kj daily intake schedule given to me by my fabulous trainer Brendan I trolled the internet looked for easy meal and snack ideas that were within my realm of cooking ability and flavour enjoyment.

After looking at my options, I did the big grocery shop which was a little exciting - however I think I was at Coles for about 2 hours. I think I looked at the nutritional information on nearly EVERYTHING I picked up - Yes, I was THAT person lol. I was really surprised at the levels of salt, sugar, saturated fats and kj in the foods I was buying. It was real eye opener for me.

That night I sat down with my white board and planned out my food menu ahead - breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner.

In the last 1.5 weeks I've lost 2.5kg which now means I've lost 10kg since June 2011.

Happy Days! It's so exciting to see results and to be learning about nutrition and learning to love exercise!!!
