WINTER HAIR BLUES BY NV DESIGN STUDIO

Image
After having my natural hair length for a while it was time to have my colour refreshed and extensions put back in. ALL types of extensions requirE CONSTANT hydration and moisture to keep them sleep,  silky and tangle free; especially through the winter months! The wet weather conditions and dry air cause static frizz and can possibly dry out your scalp as well as your natural hair and extensions. Keep in mind that your extensions do not get to benefit from the natural oils your hair produces. TIPS At bed time, plait your hair to keep from rubbing together causing static electricity and making them rough and knotty. Plait them in two so that you can brush them out in the morning leaving you with a nice ripple effect. NV Design Studio recommends a nourishing shampoo for extensions:: Redken All Soft Range - packs available $59.95 include 300ml Shampoo, 250ml Conditioner, 90ml Argan Oil +  BONUS Mini Quick Dry 18 Hairspray and Travel Size Rough Paste = $92.0...

CHALKING BY NV DESIGN STUDIO

Image
You've seen in it the magazines with Lauren Conrad's tie dye dipped tresses and now you've seen it on the runway at MBFW so at this week's styling session with NV Design Studio we've decided to show you how to get this funky "Chalking" look at home yourself! Because of my extensions, we got in fabulous hair model Georgia to be my replacement this week.  The great thing about Chalking is the fact you can wash it out without staining your natural hair! STEP 1: You will need to grab some chalk from a craft store. Any non oil based chalk will do. STEP 2: Start with clean dry hair STEP 3: Section the area you wish to "chalk" and dampen with water   STEP 4: Select chosen coloured chalk and start rubbing sectioned area to pigment hair (an alternate method is to crush chalk up and mix with water to create a paste and paint on) STEP 5: After doing entire head with mixed/chosen colours, dry off then straighten...

SCROLL BRAID BY NV DESIGN STUDIO

Image
With Creamfields and Splendour upon us, this is a quick and easy festival do that looks AMAZING! STEP 1: Best done with hair that hasn't been washed in a few days, if clean use mousse for texture. STEP 2: Starting with your head upside down, part hair down the centre and do two braids starting from the base of the neck to the crown - if you're talented enough to do it yourself otherwise rope in a friend. STEP 3: Secure the ends of the braids by teasing and scroll around to desired shape and location.
