AUDREY HEPBURN'S 85TH BIRTHDAY

Image
Today, Google celebrated Audrey Hepburn's birthday with a beautiful doodle. The stunning style icon passed away 21 years ago from a rare type of cancer. Best known for her role in Breakfast at Tiffany's , My Fair Lady and Funny Face . She also won Best Actress in Roman Holiday. But Audrey was also a humanitarian and worked for UNICEF. Audrey also had a fashion style of timeless classic elegance that will continue to influence fashionistas forever more.

WEATHER GIRL

Image
Every morning I wake up, the first thing I do is check outside to see what the weather is like. For as long as I can remember I've done this, it's almost a little OCD. And I'm actually pretty good at predicting what the day will bring, it's a gift ;-) Since my diagnosis six years ago, I've learnt that research has proven that the weather can have a huge impact on people with Bipolar Disorder, especially seasonal changes which explains my recent bouts of headaches and more recently my emotional instability the last few days. The weather hasn't been particularly great of late, it's starting to get colder with bouts of rain. Full moons are another interesting time for me, they can bring on  hypomania  or mixed episodes (it's a full moon tonight). So combining seasonal changes, weather changes and a Full Moon and it's crazy times at my place at the moment. Even though I know these things, on top of the medication, doctor's appointments ...

MY BEAUTIFUL FLAW

Image
I haven't been well of late. I haven't been well at all, which is why my blog posts have been a bit sporadic and some of my content has been a bit all over the place. My creative outlet has always been the best form of healing but lately I haven't been able to focus, which has been incredibly frustrating for me. I'm in the process of making some changes which is very exciting so I hope to be able to announce some of them soon. My name is Missy, I'm 34 and I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder in 2008.... If you don't know much about it, here is a documentary that might shed some light xx

NERD GIRL

I've never really been a HUGE fan of Star Wars but my boyfriend is, and recently I found a couple of really cool items that I couldn't resist in purchasing as I knew he would love them and as I mentioned there are really really cool and practical! Star Wars Darth Vader Mints  - these were a last minute purchase at the counter after purchasing the item below. Under $5 but I loved the tin and knew that I would find a use after the mints were long gone.  Little did we know when the tin was busted open that mints were shaped like Darths' head too - love it! Star Wars R2-D2 4-Port USB Hub  - this cute piece of hardware is such a great gift for your nerdy boyfriend (or yourself, or anyone.....) it's got 4 usb ports in a hub that comes as R2-D2 - what's not to love? And the best part, he makes noises just like him too, it's absolutely adorable. Available to purchase HERE
