Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the BusinessGC Ready 2 Wear Fashion Parade at the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove to bear witness to eleven fabulous emerging local designers.  Yopie Stafurik is just one of the standout few that really made an impact on me with her bold colours, beautiful fabrics, stunning lines and stylish designs. Playsuits, leather jackets, flowing dresses, structured skirts and pants Yopie has it all. Starting her label in 2006, Yopie has come along way and taken on many challenges including her appearance on Australia's second season of Project Runway in 2010. Expect to see a lot more from her... The first annual An Old Scholar Fashion Affair event has been created to provide a forum for unknown yet immensely talented emerging designers to showcase their creations to the fashion elite of Queensland. Friday the 13 th of April will see an array of industry, media, buyers and consumers gather at Fortitude Valley’s Oh Hello nightclub to witness a fashion parade of local designers, competing for the title of ‘Old Scholar Emerging Designer of 2012’. A night of incredible talent, with glitz and glamour thrown in, will bring a breath of fresh air to the industry insiders and fashion enthusiasts in Brisbane.
