HAVE YOU HEARD?

After a crazy weekend of celebrating our friends Hen's and Bucks (needless to say the chores and shopping didn't get done) - the boy came home from a long day's work and being the good girlfriend I am (hehe) I suggested take out for dinner. But rather than doing the standard McDonalds or Hungry Jacks, we decided to order delivery from Menulog  a fabulous new take-away food and delivery website that has a huge range of local restaurants available to order from the click of a button. Step 1.  Type in your postcode (see image below) Step 2.  A list of restaurants available to order from depending on your location - both takeaway and delivery appear for you to choose from (see image below) Labrador Delivery Step 3. You choose your restaurant and order the scrumptious food! There was a decent selection to choose from, however we went with ALs Convenience Aussie & Indian Takeaway which has a mixture of cuisine which was perfect fo...

BODYTRIM - TAKE 2

Image
I'm writing this blog post after finishing the 3 day carb detox on the Bodytrim system. See blog post  HERE  on my first attempt. Sadly, I only made it past the Carb Detox phase. My partner and I decided to give it another go, after I didn't do particularly well the first time. Weight loss, much like smoking is something you need to be ready for, both mentally and physically. And it usually takes a few attempts. I've been somewhat unstable recently, can't put it down to any one thing in particular, but I'll be talking about that in another post. My lithium intake has increased and in doing so, so has my weight (for more info you can read blog post HERE ), and I feel like shit. I haven't been able to look at myself naked in the mirror which of course has had an adverse affect on my mental state. So it was time to at least try and make a change, even though I've tried everything else in the past and it hadn't worked. But hey, I work so hard to b...

BIG BOOB BONANZA - THANKS BIG W

Image
There are very few occasions when having an "ample bosom" has its' advantages (especially when they're real). The majority of the time they just get in the bloody way! Running is an absolute nightmare, not that that's something I partake in anyway, but on the odd occasion I have attempted it, it's been an extremely painful experience. I'm sure it's given any viewers a good ole laugh but no amount of duct tape could strap these puppies down to make me put on my runners and give it another shot. Even trying to get into a comfortable position in bed to sleep requires at least a few seconds of shifting and adjusting so I don't suffocate, and to make sure things aren't squishing where they shouldn't be. Although, my boyfriend drifts off in a matter of seconds once he rests his weary head upon my two soft pillows of breast tissue, so at least one of us is getting a good night's sleep. The worst thing about it all, is the shop...

Buying online, the size was something...

NERD GIRL

I've never really been a HUGE fan of Star Wars but my boyfriend is, and recently I found a couple of really cool items that I couldn't resist in purchasing as I knew he would love them and as I mentioned there are really really cool and practical! Star Wars Darth Vader Mints  - these were a last minute purchase at the counter after purchasing the item below. Under $5 but I loved the tin and knew that I would find a use after the mints were long gone.  Little did we know when the tin was busted open that mints were shaped like Darths' head too - love it! Star Wars R2-D2 4-Port USB Hub  - this cute piece of hardware is such a great gift for your nerdy boyfriend (or yourself, or anyone.....) it's got 4 usb ports in a hub that comes as R2-D2 - what's not to love? And the best part, he makes noises just like him too, it's absolutely adorable. Available to purchase HERE

BODYTRIM - PHASE 1

Image
So, Monday I started Phase 1 of the Bodytrim Weight Loss system, I'm not calling it a diet, I'm not making a big deal of it.  For those of you that follow my blog you'll know that this is my second attempt at trying something serious, below is the link to my journey with fabulous Personal Trainer Brendan Junge from In Motion Fitness Health and Fitness who taught me a great deal last year. See blog post HERE As a result of a serious health condition and medications that I take and have to take for the rest of my life, over the last 5 years I have put on over 20 kg. Unfortunately, these medications have affected my liver and will continue to which have and will make it very difficult for me to lose that weight.  On the upside it's done wonders for my condition but has made it very difficult to lose the fat, which has caused other issues such as low self esteem blah blah blah. Ladies, all know the side effects of weight gain don't we?! So nothing to lo...

UNDERSTATED PERFECTION

Image
BACCHUS SOUTHBANK Located on the podium level of Rydges Hotel in the bustling entertainment precinct of South bank is the luxury new dining venue BACCHUS. BACCHUS has an understated decor and a level of sophistication that is felt the minute you walk out of the elevator. It was a 7.30pm Saturday night reservation and already there was a buzz in the bar as guests waited for their table. As soon as we were seated our gorgeous waitress gave us an option of water selection, which was a first for me, it wasn't an ordinary selection either - still, sparkling or tap. We went with still. Then the next options came - NZ or Italian. With all these options, we knew we were in for a heavenly and luxurious night. As we sipped on our water that had been naturally filtered over limestone rocks (oh yes, it keeps coming lol) I looked around the restaurant and started to notice the finer points... The gorgeous hosts, wore clothed in stylish silk dresses with stiletto heel;...

SPICES FOR DUMMIES

Image
Hailing from two generations of bad cooks (sorry mum - but you know it's true lol) I was so excited to be invited to attend a lunch with Ian "Herbie" Hemphill and his lovely wife Liz at Spoon Deli  in James St, New Farm. It was slightly daunting being surrounded by a table of serious foodies whose days are spent cooking and blogging about food, but it was wonderful listening to Herbie and Liz talk about their travels and experiences and experimenting with herbs and spices. What I found most interesting was learning about the history of spices - nutmeg was once worth more than gold and we all know the phrase "he's worth his salt", that's because Roman soldiers used to be paid in salt. The power of the spice trade has shaped so much of the world today it's unbelievable!!! But I digress... One of the most fascinating things I learnt most from this luncheon was the fact that herbs and spices are condiments not be scared o...
