Gold Coast Fashion Week Judges Announced!!

My Gasoline Rainbow is happy to announce the sartorial experts who will be judging the looks at Gold Coast Fashion Week!!

First cab off the rank is Gold Coast local glamour girl Leah Madden.
Leah is the designer behind swimwear label White Sands, with her retro-chic bikini’s earning international success.

After making a splash at Miami fashion week, with celeb royal Kendall Jenner featuring in the White Sands show, Leah is back to support the Gold Coast Fashion scene on the panel of expert judges.

Next up is Jay Pask, the Coast’s own Sartorial Sheriff.

Jay juggles writing “The Fashion Police” files for the Gold Coast Bulletin, along with managing his designer fashion boutique and his own eponymous fashion label.

“Thank the Lord!” Jay tells MGR “Gold Coast Fashion Week finally has a team behind it that can allow the week to reach its’ full potential. The focus needs to be on the design element, not the social element and that is where this year's event is directed. As a judge, I’ll look for a range that is intriguing yet saleable, creative yet wearable. The garments need to be finished properly and the range must not have unexplainable gaps. I can't wait to compare the Up and Coming designers with the Established designers. Sometimes the most naive of ideas are the most exciting. Hopefully this event is noticed by interstate and international buyers and we can really give these designers a start.”

Jay is sure to cause some controversy on the panel with his clear-cut views on what he adores and what he abhors!

Last but certainly not least is SHOP TIL U DROP Fashion News Editor, Anna Deutsch.

Anna Deutsch has worked in the fashion industry for over six years, having started her career in New York City with experience at both W magazine and US InStyle. Her love of travel and sunshine led from the States to Australia about four years ago. From the moment she arrived, Anna immersed herself in the local fashion industry, working freelance until getting a regular gig at InStyle.

She has spent the last two years as Fashion News Editor at Shop Til You Drop, where her passion for writing and styling meet her addiction to shopping.

“I’m really looking forward to being part of Gold Coast Fashion week.” Anna says “It’s important to highlight what’s going on all across Australia, not just what’s happening in Sydney where most of the magazines are based. I’m really excited to spend a few days there getting to know the people, labels and general vibe of the Gold Coast! I’m hoping for lots of exciting fashion, and also lots of sunshine.”

Anna, we’re so grateful to have your expertise on the panel and will do our very best to keep the sun shining for you!

These fashion heavy weights will be critiquing the shows to find out which designers rock the runway.

GCFW hall of fame award- for best established fashion designer

After a crazy weekend of celebrating our friends Hen's and Bucks (needless to say the chores and shopping didn't get done) - the boy came home from a long day's work and being the good girlfriend I am (hehe) I suggested take out for dinner. UNCOVERING THE BRISBANE LOOK

This Thursday evening, I will be one of the lucky few to be attending the exclusive screening of "Uncovering the Brisbane Look".  QueensPlaza in association with Mercedes-Benz Brisbane is launching an inspiring documentary film to celebrate Brisbane's style at the GoMA . Former Vogue Editor, Kirstie Clements narrates the film and plays the role as Executive Producer while it looks at it's creativity, passion and everything that draws us in about Brisbane's thriving fashion industry. Style heavyweights interviewed especially for the film include Easton Pearson 's Lydia Pearson, Sass and Bide 's Heidi Middleton, and Nicky and Simone Zimmermann .
