After months of preparation, dedication and excitement all the hard work paid off on Wednesday night with the Official Launch party of Gold Coast Fashion Week at The Oracle Zen Garden.

Sequins were the hot trend for the night as were sleek high top buns and rock star loose curls framing the faces of nude lips with the always sexy cat eye flicks.


Having broken my big toe not two hours before the event, even hobbling around practically bare foot listening to the sounds of DJ Bure all set in a backdrop of the  it was still so wonderful to be able to catching with old friends and meeting new ones.

Thanks to the events fabulous make up sponsors Runway Express Experience, available throughout the evening was a Beauty Bar for complimentary make up and perfume touch ups - talk about a complete pampering!

All in all the evening was a great kick start for what is bound to be a star studded high profile event of fashion, fun and parties. Stay tuned for Day 1 of the Runway Shows.

“Ahhh I’m late for work!” I wailed to my neighbour as he stared in disbelief at my designer dress and sky-high heels…

Last night the Official Blogger team made our debut at the Launch party for Gold Coast Fashion week at the Oracle Zen Garden. The first major event on our fashion week hit list, we arrived with a whirlwind of make up artists from Runway Express, the makeup sponsors for the event.

Like a deer in the headlights I stepped out of the car right into the waiting lens of a media photographer… my first social snap ever!! We were then ushered through the extravagant venue and up into the Zen garden where all the action was set to happen.

At the entrance my nerves kicked in as a bevy of beauties and celebrities swarmed around the media photographers and cocktail bar. With a delicious cocktail in hand (Acai berry flavoured mmmmm) I followed my boss - Publicist and Official Blogger Missy Robinson as she circled among the glamorous leaders of the industry (looking fabulous despite acquiring a broken toe just hours beforehand).

The venue was BEAUTIFUL… a stunning rooftop garden fit to be filled with the gorgeous people spilling through the doors.  DJ Bure’s beats filled the space and set the rhythm for a night of relaxed and sophisticated banter. Much to my tastebud’s delight, tasty sweet potato falafels and mini meatballs were offered to the svelte crowd, and I ducked from cameras as I gobbled the delicious morsels.

As the night wound down we suddenly found ourselves in the last group of revellers, and left the venue to continue our adventures into the night.

For years I've always been told how lucky I was to have such good skin. And for years I always blew the compliments off with a casual thank you. As I get older, I now cherish those compliments knowing how lucky I actually am.  Catching up with family, specifically the older generations I realise that it's all in the genes. After a crazy weekend of celebrating our friends Hen's and Bucks (needless to say the chores and shopping didn't get done) - the boy came home from a long day's work and being the good girlfriend I am (hehe) I suggested take out for dinner. UNCOVERING THE BRISBANE LOOK

This Thursday evening, I will be one of the lucky few to be attending the exclusive screening of "Uncovering the Brisbane Look".  QueensPlaza in association with Mercedes-Benz Brisbane is launching an inspiring documentary film to celebrate Brisbane's style at the GoMA . Former Vogue Editor, Kirstie Clements narrates the film and plays the role as Executive Producer while it looks at it's creativity, passion and everything that draws us in about Brisbane's thriving fashion industry. Style heavyweights interviewed especially for the film include Easton Pearson 's Lydia Pearson, Sass and Bide 's Heidi Middleton, and Nicky and Simone Zimmermann .
